Thanksgiving is now behind us, and just like that, the snow has started falling, holiday decorations are up and our little town of Whitefish has transformed into a winter wonderland.
While the holidays are oftentimes a chance to slow down and enjoy time with family and friends, the world of Real Estate, while quieting, never sleeps. With that, it's time for the November issue of The Revel Roundup, dedicated to keeping you informed and up-to-date on all things Real Estate in Western Montana. Happy reading...and happy holidays!

Montana's Population Surge
|
|
|
Did you move to Montana in the past 10 years? You're not alone. Between 2010 and 2020, Montana's population grew by almost 95,000, a 9.6% increase. Today, the state's population is 1,084,225. While topping the million mark is a big deal for the state, cows still outnumber humans almost 3:1.Notables from the 2020 US Census:- The United States saw a 7.4% increase in population between 2010 and 2020
- Montana grew at a faster rate than the US, experiencing at 9.6% population increase between 2010 and 2020
- Flathead County saw the 2nd highest growth of Montana counties with a population over 12,000, recording an increase of 14.8% (Gallatin County, home to Bozeman, saw the highest increase at 32.9%)
- Roughly half of Flathead County's growth occurred within the city limits of Kalispell, Whitefish and Columbia Falls
- Whitefish saw a population increase of almost 22%, Kalispell 23% and Columbia Falls 13%
Montana Real EstateWith the onslaught of new residents to the Flathead Valley, housing prices, like many other parts of the country, have increased. In this case, it is simple economics: low supply and high demand mean increased prices across the board.
Curious what this all means for your equity - or hopes of landing your Montana dream property? We analyze Montana's Population Surge on our recent
blog report.
